MIRI DIVISIONAL GAWAI CELEBRATION 2010 KUMANG/KELIGIT & KELING/BELAWAN CONTEST

PRIZES, RULES & REGULATIONS FOR THE KUMANG/KELEGIT & KELING/BELAWAN CONTEST
8th May 2010
In conjunction with the Miri Divisional Gawai Celebration 2010, the Organising Committee will be organising a Kumang/Keligit & Keling/Belawan contest on 8th May 2010 at Dewan Suarah Miri .
The contest will be divided into few categories as follows :-
Category Keligit Orang Ulu
Category Kumang Bidayuh
Category Kumang Iban
Category Keling/Belawan (Open)
Prizes for Keligit(Orang Ulu)/ Kumang (Bidayuh)/ Kumang(Iban)
FINAL CONTEST
Kumang /Keligit : RM1000.00 (Cash) plus trophy, a flower bouquet and a Certificate
1st Runner up : RM800.00 (Cash) plus trophy, a flower bouquet and a Certificate
2nd Runner up : RM600.00 (Cash) plus trophy, a flower bouquet and a Certificate
Remaining Finalists : Each will receive a Consolation Prize of RM300.00 (Cash) plus a Certificate
Prizes for Keling Iban/Belawan Orang Ulu
Keling/Belawan : RM600.00 (Cash) plus trophy and a Certificate
1st Runner up : RM500.00 (Cash) plus trophy and a Certificate
2nd Runner up : RM400.00 (Cash) plus trophy and a Certificate
Remaining Finalists : Each will receive a Consolation Prize of RM200.00 (Cash) and a Certificate
ELIMINATION ROUND
1.If it’s found necessary for contestants to undergo an Elimination Round, it will be held on 2nd May 2010 at Bintang Megamall, New Wing Level 1C at 2.00pm –6.00pm. The Dress code for Ladies must be “Kebaya Nyonya” and Batik Shirt Long Sleeve for Men.
2.There will be a Contestant briefing on 30th April 2010 (Friday) at Rumah Dayak Miri at 7.00pm and it’s compulsory for all contestants to attend.
3.Only 6 finalists from each of the four Categories will be selected to enter the Final Contest.
4. The 7th to 10th placed contestants for the Keligit Orang Ulu, Kumang Bidayuh, Kumang Iban & Keling/Belawan during the Elimination Round will received a Consolation Prize and a Certificate.
5.The remaining contestants will only receive a Certificate.
RULES & REGULATIONS
1.All Contest Forms for Kumang/Keligit & Keling/Belawan Contests must be enclosed with an Entrance Fee of RM15, a photocopy of IC and Birth Certificate plus 2 Passport Size photos (Fees, copies of IC, Birth Certificate & Photographs submitted are not returnable);
2.The Miri Gawai Dayak Celebration 2010 Kumang/Keligit contest is open to all single Malaysian Dayak Ladies aged between 18 to 25 years old respectively as at 8th May 2010. Married /Divorced /Single Mother are not eligible to participate in the contest;
3.The Miri Gawai Dayak Celebration 2010 Keling/Belawan contest is open to all single Malaysian Dayak Men aged between 18 to 30 years old respectively as at 8th May 2010. Married /Divorced /Single Father are not eligible to participate in the contest.
4.For Muslim Dayak contestants, written clearance from Jabatan Agama Islam is required;
5.Only School leavers & students who are not governed by Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia ie. University & Private College students are allowed to participate;
6.All Kumang/Keligit and Keling/Belawan MUST be well conversant in their own respective ethnic dialect of parentage of their own respective ethnic race;
7.For contestants of Mixed Marriage Parentage, where the contestant name is ambiguous (when surname is Chinese /Indian/Eurasian), entry form must be attached with a photocopy of Birth Certificate of the contestant as and when required by the Organiser for further verification;
8.All the Finalists for the four Categories will be contesting on 8th May 2010.
9.All completed Entry Forms, enclosed with Entrance Fee, Photocopy of IC, Birth Certificate & photographs must reached the Organising Committee members of the Kumang/Keligit & Keling/Belawan Contest or submitted to Dayak Association Miri (Rumah Dayak), Office at, Lot 1088-1089 3rd Floor, Jalan Merpati not later than Wednesday, 28th April 2010 by 4.30pm.
11.The organiser reserved all rights not to entertain any late submissions;
12.Rehearsals are compulsory for all short-listed contestants;
13.Only one (1) Chaperon is allowed per contestant in the Final Contest;
14.The judges’ decision is final.
15.Any Finalist contestant in the Final Contest, who had won the title and is later found that they did not comply with all the Rules & Regulations above, the organizer served all the rights to withdraw the title through a press release and declare the next eligible winner for the title. The Organising Committee’s Decision is final and no appeal will be entertained.
